Newsjunkie.net is a resource guide for journalists. We show who's behind the news, and provide tools to help navigate the modern business of information.
Use of DataWe did not know Kaleb Horton very long, but he made an impact on us here at Newsjunkie. Introduced by mutual friend Zac Rigg in May of this year, we read his work, had a few talks and meetings over the summer, and worked out a first assignment. I made a couple of followup calls, and when I didn’t hear back, I reached out to Zac.
“Kaleb died,” is a phrase I wasn’t ready for.
The sorrow of losing a talented and soulful young writer is great. We will never know what magic would have graced our pages, but at least we got to meet him, share a meal, and talk about journalism. He had what I would call gravity. Kaleb was the real deal. Our hearts go out to his family and friends.
