Austin Vida is published under the umbrella of Cultura Media, founded by journalist Nancy Flores. Flores previously reported for the Austin American-Statesman and Austin360, specializing in coverage of underrepresented Central Texas communities before founding Austin Vida.

Notable works

Flores was named one of "Austin's Top Latina Entrepreneurs to Watch" by the digital outlet Austonia (now ATXtoday), received the Award of Excellence in Media Arts from Austin's Mexican American Cultural Center, and was named among Remezcla's "Latino Columnists You Should Be Reading" in 2019.
