The Butler Collegian is the independent student news organization of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, consisting of a weekly print newspaper and companion news website.
The Collegian first appeared as a monthly newsmagazine in January 1886, conceived as a medium through which Butler students could acquaint themselves with campus affairs. It has since evolved into a weekly broadsheet, publishing every Wednesday during the fall and spring semesters with approximately 22 issues per academic year.
The Collegian was named the nation's Best All-Around Non-Daily Newspaper (small) by the Society of Professional Journalists in 2012 and won the Associated Collegiate Press Pacemaker Award, the highest national honor for student publications, in 2011. It received its first national Investigative Reporters and Editors award in 2014 for a three-month investigation into South African court records, WikiLeaks documents and sources in South Africa.

The Collegian serves the Butler University student body and campus community, with approximately 600 print copies distributed weekly across campus and roughly 12,000 weekly website views.
