The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong.
Journalism at CUHK is housed in the School of Journalism and Communication, part of the Faculty of Social Science. Established in 1965, it was the first institution in Hong Kong dedicated to communication education and research. The school's undergraduate programme offers three streams of study: Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, and Creative and New Media.
CUHK was formally established on October 17, 1963, as a federation of three existing colleges: New Asia College (founded 1949), Chung Chi College (founded 1951), and United College (founded 1956). It is Hong Kong's second-oldest university, after the University of Hong Kong.
