The Connecticut Mirror (CT Mirror) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, online-only news organization based in Hartford, Connecticut, covering state government, public policy and politics.
CT Mirror was founded in 2009 in response to the shrinking of statehouse coverage by legacy Connecticut media, and first published on January 25, 2010, with an initial staff of four. It is the sole subsidiary of the nonprofit Connecticut News Project and shares a newsroom in a building owned by Connecticut Public, the operator of WNPR and CPTV, with whom it also shares a Washington, D.C. reporter.
In May 2026, CT Mirror and ProPublica won the Pulitzer Prize for Local Reporting for "On the Hook," an investigation by reporters Dave Altimari and Ginny Monk into predatory towing practices in Connecticut that led to an overhaul of the state's vehicle-towing laws. It was CT Mirror's first Pulitzer Prize.
