The Conversation Media Group Limited is a global not-for-profit media organization headquartered in Australia, the licensor of The Conversation journalism model, which pairs academics with professional editors.
The Conversation Media Group is a registered not-for-profit company. Each regional edition operates as an independent nonprofit or charity funded by partnered universities, governments and other grant-awarding bodies, corporate partners, and reader donations.
Co-founded by Andrew Jaspan and Jack Rejtman, The Conversation launched in Australia in March 2011 with $10 million in seed funding from four Australian universities (Melbourne, Monash, Australian National University, and University of Western Australia), CSIRO, the Government of Victoria, the Government of Australia, and the Commonwealth Bank.
