UC Santa Barbara
The Daily Nexus was founded in 1931 as a UC Santa Barbara student newspaper called the Eagle. After several name changes, the newspaper kept the name the Daily Nexus beginning in 1970. It is a weekly broadsheet published in Santa Barbara, California. The newspaper believes that publishing a student newspaper is not just a privilege but a duty demanded by a democratic society, and they strive to fulfill this duty to the best of their abilities.
The Bottom Line and The Current are also independent, student-run publications at UC Santa Barbara.
UC Santa Barbara does not have a journalism department, nor does it offer a journalism degree.
