Nonprofit seeks to protect constitutional values

Democracy Fund, an independent and nonpartisan, private foundation, founded in 2014, seeks to defend against deep-rooted challenges and threats to American democracy. Its founder, Pierre Omidyar, is a first-generation American who created this fund to help protect the US Constitution and core democratic values. Since its beginning, Democracy Fund has made more than $275 million in grants, supporting over 200 organizations that strengthen free and fair elections, effective and accountable government, and a just and inclusive society.

Funding focus is on fair, trustworthy, and inclusive elections, Anti-authoritarian governance, a just and inclusive society, and increased civic engagement with reliable information sources.
