The Detroit News, The News, is a print and digital daily based in Detroit, Michigan. It is one of the largest and most prominent newspapers in the state of Michigan. It earned 3 Pulitzer prizes, including the first ever for photojournalism.

James E. Scripps, an illustrious figure in the history of American journalism, founded Detroit News in 1873. The Scripps family owned and ran it for decades until, in 1985, it merged with Gannett Co., Inc, a division of Digital First Media.

The Detroit News subscription and advertising based business model offers customers a combination of print and digital starting at $1.

The Detroit News’ revenue in 2022 was $58 million.
