Biography

Conan Gallaty is chairman and CEO of Times Publishing Company, which operates the Tampa Bay Times, Florida Trend magazine and Tampa Bay Newspapers, overseeing advertising, circulation and operations. A graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in publication management, he began his career as a reporter for the Rome News-Tribune in his hometown of Rome, Georgia, then became new media director of the Augusta Chronicle, where he developed the AugustaChronicle.com and golf-focused Augusta.com websites. He joined The New York Times Company in 2006 as director of online operations and strategy for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, then moved to WEHCO Media, an Arkansas-based communications company, in 2009, becoming the company's digital director and later executive vice president for digital media, where he grew total digital revenue by 107 percent over four years while supervising 14 independent publishing markets; he was named WEHCO's president of digital in 2017. He joined the Tampa Bay Times as chief digital officer in April 2018 and was later promoted to chairman and CEO of Times Publishing Company. He serves on the board of advisors of Cityverse, a geographically focused social network aimed at restoring local news as a community binding agent.
