Wisconsin Hi-Liter is a free weekly total-market-coverage publication distributed across Walworth County and parts of Racine, Kenosha, Waukesha and Milwaukee counties in southeastern Wisconsin, published by Southern Lakes Newspapers, LLC.
The Hi-Liter was developed as part of the Branen family's Southern Lakes Media, Inc., a Burlington, Wisconsin-based publisher built up over roughly 50 years alongside titles including the Burlington Standard Press, the Westosha Report and the Elkhorn Independent. Southern Lakes Media was sold effective April 20 to brothers Jack, Peter and Harold Cruger, who also own Rock Valley Publishing, a separate northern-Illinois newspaper company; the acquired company was renamed Southern Lakes Newspapers.
