Biography

Brian Hoopes is chief information security officer at Deseret Digital Media, which operates digital media properties including KSL.com and its Marketplace products (KSL Classifieds, KSL Jobs, KSL Homes, KSL Cars, KSL Services) and Utah.com. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Weber State University and an associate's degree in computer information systems from Salt Lake Community College. Hoopes began his career at Deseret Digital Media as a senior web developer, where he implemented Solr search technology and led the redesign of KSL.com Classifieds, before being promoted to senior director of engineering for Marketplace, overseeing development of marketplace products and fraud prevention. He previously served as director of Internet technology at Bonneville International, a broadcasting company, where he led the migration of the entire company to a single common content management system and provided training and support for developers.
