Scott Hoskins is publisher and president of Better Newspapers, Inc., a family-owned community newspaper, magazine, radio and printing company headquartered in Mascoutah, Illinois. A native of Mascoutah, he joined the company full-time in 2007 as general manager of the Mt. Zion Region News, having grown up in the business founded by his father, Greg Hoskins, in 1991. Hoskins went on to serve as Better Newspapers' Metro East regional manager and vice president before being named publisher and president in May 2024, a period during which the company expanded from roughly a dozen newspapers to nearly 50 publications, including four daily newspapers, some 35 weeklies, five magazines and seven radio stations across Illinois and Missouri, plus three press plants. He holds a bachelor's degree in television production from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and serves on the board of directors of the Illinois Press Association.
