Biography

Inga Thordar is an award-winning editor, newsroom leader, and media executive originally from Iceland, based in London. She served as executive editor of CNN Digital Worldwide for more than six years, overseeing all international news, sport, and programming teams across offices in London, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, Lagos, and New York. Before CNN, she was a senior editor at the BBC, where she brought together television and digital production teams and commissioning, edited the BBC's news front page, and led digital innovations across both television and radio platforms. She serves on the board of openDemocracy, an independent digital journalism outlet. Thordar is a frequent speaker at international journalism conferences and a vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion in newsrooms, including efforts to combat ageism in the industry.
