Biography

Greg Lindahl is an astrophysicist and technologist who serves as chief technology officer of the Common Crawl Foundation, a nonprofit that maintains a free, open repository of web crawl data. He advised Common Crawl from 2012 before joining full-time in 2023. He previously founded and served as chief technology officer of Blekko, an internet search engine. Before that, he was a member of the Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration, working at the Center for Astrophysics at Harvard and the Smithsonian, and has contributed to the Wayback Machine at the Internet Archive. Lindahl began his industry career at the quantitative trading firm D. E. Shaw & Co. and has founded three technology startups.
