The MacArthur Foundation

The MacArthur Foundation, founded in 1970, based in Chicago, Illinois, is a grant and funding site. The foundation focuses on funding global climate solutions, reducing nuclear risk, promoting justice reform in the U.S., and combating corruption in Nigeria. The foundation also supports journalism's role in a responsive democracy through initiatives such as the MacArthur Fellows Program and the global 100&Change competition.

The Journalism and Media program invests in the building of equitable, inclusive news media. They help build sustainable organizations and networks with good leadership and innovation in an ever-evolving media landscape, addressing and correcting limiting barriers to the democratic ideals of a multiracial and multi-ethnic America.
