Maine Sunday Telegram is the statewide Sunday edition of the Portland Press Herald, published by the Maine Trust for Local News (METLN).
Traces to the Portland Sunday Telegram, founded in 1888 by C.B. Anderson, with George B. Bagley as its first editor. In 1928, the Portland Sunday Telegram merged with the Portland Press Herald to form the Portland Sunday Telegram and Sunday Press Herald; the paper was renamed Maine Sunday Telegram in 1968. The Press Herald and its Sunday edition were part of Guy Gannett Communications for most of the 20th century, sold to The Seattle Times Company in 1998, then to MaineToday Media (2009), Reade Brower (2015), and finally to the nonprofit National Trust for Local News in 2023, which operates it as the Maine Trust for Local News.
Longtime Maine Sunday Telegram food columnist Marjorie Standish wrote for the paper for 25 years. Reporter Colin Woodard received a George Polk Award in 2012 for reporting in the paper on online education policy in Maine.
