CHOZ-FM, branded OZFM, is a radio station in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, owned by Stirling Communications and broadcasting on 94.7 FM with transmitters throughout the province.
CHOZ launched June 15, 1977, on 93.9 FM as "The New Radio OZ, The Rock Of The Rock!" shortly after Geoff Stirling sold his interest in what is now CJYQ. On August 1, 1984, the station moved to its current 94.7 MHz frequency to resolve signal interference with CJON-TV. The station has shifted formats repeatedly over the decades, from classic rock to hot adult contemporary and active rock, most recently reverting to its CHR/classic rock format and original "The Rock of the Rock" slogan on September 1, 2023.
OZFM's morning show has long been a driver of the station's audience, historically anchored by "The Dawn Patrol" and more recently "OZ Mornings." In January 2011, the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council admonished CHOZ-FM for airing an unedited version of Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing."
