Reporters Without Borders (Reporters Sans Frontières) founded in 1985 is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Paris, France. It is dedicated to the belief that everyone requires access to news and information. The nonprofit defends freedom of expression and information. Along with defending at-risk journalists, Reporters Without Borders offers briefings and press releases, in multiple languages, on threats to media freedom and the World Press Freedom Index, that measures the state of media freedom in 180 countries.
