Anandabazar Patrika — Founding Editor (1922–1958)
Prafulla Kumar Sarkar was the founding editor of Anandabazar Patrika, the Bengali-language daily newspaper first published in Kolkata on March 13, 1922, alongside proprietor Suresh Chandra Majumdar. Launched as a four-page evening paper opposed to British colonial rule, the newspaper grew to become the most widely circulated Bengali-language daily in India and the flagship publication of what became the ABP Group. Sarkar edited the paper until his death in 1958, when he was succeeded as editor-in-chief by his son, Ashok Kumar Sarkar.
