Biography

Shithi Sarkar is a joint shareholder of ABP Private Limited and its holding company, ABP Holdings Private Limited, the Kolkata-based Indian media conglomerate whose publications include the Bengali daily Anandabazar Patrika and the English-language newspaper The Telegraph, alongside ABP News Network's television channels. She holds equal shares alongside her husband, Arup Kumar Sarkar - a former chief editor of the group's Bengali magazines - and other family members, including Aveek Sarkar and Atideb Sarkar; together the Sarkar family controls 99.99 percent of ABP Private Limited. Sarkar also serves as a director of Ananda Publishers Pvt Ltd, the group's book-publishing arm.
