Scotts Valley Times is a monthly community newspaper covering Scotts Valley, California, published by Times Publishing Group, Inc., an independent Central Coast publisher that also produces the Aptos Times and Capitola-Soquel Times.

History

Times Publishing Group, Inc. has been serving its Santa Cruz County communities for approximately 35 years as of 2026 (front-matter of its own publications puts the count at 33 years in September 2024 and 34 years in May 2025), placing its founding in the early-to-mid 1990s. Longtime editor Jondi Gumz, a 27-year Santa Cruz Sentinel veteran who joined Times Publishing Group in 2020, stepped back from the role in June 2025 while managing a long illness and died Sept. 11, 2025, at age 72.
