Newfoundland Broadcasting Company Ltd. (NTV) - President and Chief Executive Officer; Sole Owner
G. Scott Stirling is president and CEO of Newfoundland Broadcasting Company Ltd., which operates NTV (CJON-DT), Newfoundland and Labrador's only privately owned television station, and OZFM radio. He worked alongside his father, company founder Geoff Stirling, for decades, helping strengthen NTV's national distribution through cable and satellite partnerships. Following Geoff Stirling's death in December 2013, effective control of the company passed to Scott Stirling, a transfer approved by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in September 2014; CRTC ownership records show Newfoundland Broadcasting Company Limited as 100 percent held by G. Scott Stirling. Under his leadership, the company has expanded its digital platforms and streaming services, including the NTV+ app, and he was also the creative force behind the Captain Newfoundland, Captain Atlantis, and Captain Canada characters originated by the company. The Stirling family's third generation, including Stirling's daughter Lydia McLaughlin, has since taken on senior roles at the company.
