The Dispatch is an American center-right digital media company publishing subscription-based news, commentary and podcasts on politics, policy and culture from a conservative perspective.
The Dispatch was founded in October 2019 by Jonah Goldberg, Stephen F. Hayes and Toby Stock, following the December 2018 closure of The Weekly Standard, where Hayes had been editor-in-chief. The company launched on the Substack platform with a beta in October 2019 and fully launched on January 7, 2020, with eight full-time staff and $6 million in investment capital, deliberately avoiding venture-capital funding. The outlet grew to nearly 10,000 paying subscribers by March 2020, and the Poynter Institute's International Fact-Checking Network certified its fact-checking division in May 2020. In April 2025, The Dispatch acquired the legal-affairs blog SCOTUSblog.
The Dispatch publishes several podcasts, including The Dispatch Podcast, hosted by Sarah Isgur with Jonah Goldberg, Stephen Hayes and Michael Warren; The Remnant, Goldberg's interview podcast; and Advisory Opinions, a legal-affairs podcast with Isgur and David French.
