TIME is an American news magazine and digital news brand based in New York City, publishing politics, world news, business, health, science and entertainment coverage on time.com and in a weekly print magazine.
TIME was founded by Briton Hadden and Henry Luce and published its first issue on March 3, 1923, as the first weekly news magazine in the United States. The magazine was owned by Time Inc. until Meredith Corporation acquired Time Inc. in 2017. In 2018, Salesforce co-founder Marc Benioff and his wife Lynne Benioff purchased TIME from Meredith for approximately $190 million, publishing it independently through Time USA, LLC. Edward Felsenthal served as editor-in-chief and CEO from 2017 before stepping down in March 2023; Jessica Sibley became CEO and Sam Jacobs was named Editor-in-Chief in April 2023.
