Vancouver Island Free Daily is a digital-only regional news site aggregating news, business, community, sports and entertainment coverage from Black Press Media's network of community newspapers across Vancouver Island, British Columbia, including titles serving Victoria, Nanaimo, the Comox Valley and the Cowichan Valley.
The site operates under Black Press Media, whose Vancouver Island newspaper holdings expanded through a series of acquisitions and exchanges with Glacier Media between 2013 and 2015. Black Press Group Ltd. was acquired by Carpenter Media Group, in a transaction involving Deans Knight Capital Management and Canso Investment Counsel, in March 2024.
