Schneps Media - Founder and President
Victoria Schneps-Yunis founded Schneps Media (originally Schneps Communications) in 1985, launching The Queens Courier from her Bayside, Queens living room with a partner and a $250 investment. She serves as the company's president and co-publisher alongside her son, CEO Joshua Schneps. Under their leadership, Schneps Media has grown through acquisitions including the Long Island Press (2017), amNewYork and Metro New York (2019, merged into amNewYork Metro), Community News Group and NYC Community Media (2018), Anton Media Group (2024) and Blank Slate Media (2024), building a portfolio of more than 70 community newspapers, magazines, websites and events across New York City, Long Island, Westchester and the Hamptons, including Dan's Papers, Brooklyn Paper and Gay City News. She holds a B.S. from New York University and an M.S. from Brooklyn College, and in 1971 founded Life's WORC, a nonprofit serving individuals with developmental disabilities and autism.
