Albany, Georgia, USA
WALB (channel 10) is a television station in Albany, Georgia, affiliated with NBC and ABC, serving southwest Georgia. It is owned by Gray Media alongside low-power CW+ affiliate WGCW-LD.
WALB signed on the air April 7, 1954, built by Gray Communications (now Gray Media), owned by James H. Gray Sr., who had purchased The Albany Herald newspaper and WALB radio in 1946. It was Gray's first television station and only the second in Georgia after WSB-TV. WALB operated as the flagship of Gray Communications until it was sold to Liberty Corporation's Cosmos Broadcasting in 1998 so Gray could acquire WCTV in Tallahassee. The station passed to Raycom Media, then was reacquired by Gray Television in January 2019 following Gray's purchase of Raycom. WALB added ABC programming on a second digital subchannel in April 2011. The station renamed its news operation WALB News 10 in 2004.
