Wayne County Journal-Banner is a weekly newspaper based in Piedmont, Missouri, covering Wayne County and surrounding areas of the Missouri Ozarks.
The paper continues the tradition of two predecessor titles consolidated in 1925: the Wayne County Journal of Greenville, founded in 1877 by attorney and educator Jasper Newton Morrison, and the Banner of Piedmont, founded in 1892 by physician-turned-editor Joseph Noel Holmes. Charles L. Ellinghouse purchased the paper in 1959, and it remained under Ellinghouse family ownership for decades before passing to Better Newspapers, Inc., founded by Greg Hoskins in 1991. Following Greg Hoskins' death in 2024, his son Scott Hoskins took over as president. In September 2025, the Hoskins family sold the Wayne County Journal-Banner, along with six other Missouri newspapers and eight Illinois newspapers, to Paxton Media Group.
